Abstract
This research work was aimed at reviewing the nutritional and pharmacological importance in the common vegetables we eat in Nigeria. This work gives the detail study on the nutrient and non-nutritive elements that are present in the common leafy vegetables such as Vernoniaamygdalina, Telfairiaoccidentalis, Talinumtrangulare, Amaranthushybridus and Gnetumafricanum that makes them healthy food and equally discuss the disease that these vegetables can be used to control and cure.
